Muhammad before Islam religion

The phenomenon of the birth of a new religion thanks to the work of one person

That deserves close attention to the personality of its Creator. Unfortunately for we have, though extensive, but questionable on the reliability of the material.

The only authentic source is Qur'an, which is a collection of sermons of Muhammad, spoken to them in a state of religious ecstasy, but a collection of chaotic, with no chronological order. For a proper understanding of the Qur`an generations of Muslims born after the death of Muhammad, have required extensive comments which were based on the recollections of his contemporaries.

For several decades these memories have been preserved in the memory of the companions the prophet and spread mostly in the form of oral stories.

Some of them recorded by the companions or their students, the part transferred and a further

by word of mouth. The collective memory of the companions was a source that was accessed in

search of precedents for the solution of religious, legal and administrative issues.

These brief reports on the words and deeds of the master hadiths was one of the main sources to create coherent written biography of the prophet.

The first written works of a biographical character was just thematic collections of stories on a specific subject (birth of the prophet,the acquisition of the gift of prophecy, the most notable hikes, etc.).

First of all was collected and systematized material on the late period of the life of Muhammad, first

all of his campaigns (Maghazi). The first summary of a work on Maghazi appeared, apparently at the beginning of the VIII century, when alive, was not one of their members. 

The priority of this themes  is easy to explain — the events of the last decades of the activities of Muhammad happened in front of more people, besides sasawashi significance occurring and therefore a better remember it.
